Prof. Dr. Kubilay Vicdan

Born on 28 October 1964 in Arapgir, Malatya, he graduated from Ankara Halide Edib High School in 1981 and completed his medical education at Ankara University Faculty of Medicine between 1982 and 1988.

Specialty and Academic Training

He completed his residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Dr. Zekai Tahir Burak Women’s Hospital in Ankara between 1988 and 1993, and later served there as specialist and chief resident. In 1991 he worked as an observer at Cheltenham St. Paul’s Maternity Hospital in England. Between 1999 and 2004 he earned his PhD in Histology and Embryology at Gazi University. He became Associate Professor on 26 November 2001, and was appointed Professor at Çankırı Karatekin University Faculty of Health Sciences on 21 March 2019.

Professional Experience

After his compulsory service at Şereflikoçhisar State Hospital in 1993-1994, he worked at Ankara Sevgi Hospital (1995-1996) in the Assisted Reproduction and Reproductive Endocrinology unit, and joined the founding team of the Women’s Health Center at Ankara City Hospital (1997-1999). He trained as an observer at the University of Florida IVF Unit in 1996 and in endoscopic surgery at Asaf Harofe Hospital, Israel, in 1998. Between 1999 and 2002 he served as Deputy Director of the ART and Infertility Center at Bayındır Hospital, and in 2002 founded the Danış Women’s Health Center.

In 2002 he founded Ankara IVF Center, where he has served as ART Center Director, Medical Director in Charge and Scientific/Medical Director since the center was licensed in February 2003. Between 2009 and 2016, as Training Director of the Ministry of Health ART Training Center — the only independent private training center of its kind in Türkiye — he provided certified ART training to 60 gynecologists, biologists and embryologists. In 2009 he attended Kato Ladies Clinic in Tokyo, Japan, as an observer.

Scientific Work

He has published more than 220 papers and presentations — 46 articles in international peer-reviewed journals, 30 international congress papers, 80 articles in national peer-reviewed journals and 66 national congress papers — together with 6 books and 2 book chapters. He has given 91 invited lectures at scientific meetings, served on the scientific committees of some 20 congresses, and attended 162 congresses and courses.
